A Choice of Vision for Future Leaders

Overview

The Master of Management (MM) at UPH Surabaya is a 46 credit study program that can be completed in four semesters. It has currently three areas of study, namely: Marketing Management, Financial Management, and Human Resource Management. Soon it will open two more specializations in Educational Leadership & Management and International Hospitality Management.

The courses for the first year provide students with a strong foundation for decision-making, responsible leadership, and a comprehensive range of theoretical capabilities. On the second year, students move on towards their preferred areas of study to suit their specific career paths and to work on final assignment that wil prepare them to lead cross functionally.

The MM Program recognizes the dynamic of competition and alliances in the marketplace, leadership, distinctive compretencies as well as challenging ethical and social responsibility decisions managers make operationally and strategically.

Goals of the Program

With a strong commitment to ethical behavior and sustainable business practices, the MM Program at UPH Surabaya seeks to produce top quality graduates who think with a global mindset and are able to generate results with honor and integrity. The program is designed to provide opportunities for students to acquire and sharpen competencies needed by busines and industry to compete and grow in a changing cross-cultural environment. Its learner-centered approaches provide the venue and enriching learning experience for students to benefit from a thriving network of professionals and academics.

Overseas Partner

UPH Surabaya has recently signed academic cooperation agreements with Dominican University of California, USA; Ming Dao University, Taiwan; and La Trobe University, Australia.

Majors and Areas of Specialization

Marketing Management

This area of study provides globally relevant skills and competencies in marketing. Students are expected to develop top marketing capabilities with professional qualifications of the highest standed. With a full-range of classroom and field learning experience that are available, students will be provided the opportunity to know, analyze, and apply cutting-edge frameworks and deep executive insights on the changing nature of marketing management theory and practice.

Financial Management

The world’s business finance community demands knowledgeable, well-trained professionals with expertise in financial management. This study area is designed to address and serve the needs of companies in the financial services sector; and those that serve as intermediaries between firms and financial markets. Students will be provided with a learning environment that emphasizes the theoretical foundations of finance and quantitative methods in financial management. These will also give them the opportunity to be engaged in applied finance research and modeling.

Human Resources Management

Organizations around the world aim to attract and retain the best qualified workforce. This area of study provides for an indepth examination of the theory and practice of the management of human resources (HR). It covers a comprehensive area of human resource management concerns that includes strategy and HR, recruitment, training and development, performance management, cross-cultural and diversity management, globalization and change management.

Educational Leadership and Management New

Society recognizes the global significance of educational leadership and management. This concentration area is designed for those who are involved in or are expected to take an active leadership role in the management of educational institutions, processes, and systems. These include schools, universities, continuing education and training centers, manpower and executive development entities, and other organizations providing professional education. International

Hospitality Management New

The specialization in International Hospitality Management focuses on the development of critical analytic and decision-making skills to prepare for successful management careers in international hospitality at the corporate and operational levels. These include internationalization, management of cultural diversity, business cultures, personal development planning, events management, economic & financial project appraisal, business process outsourcing, strategic alliances, value innovation and delivery in hospitality services, and application of appropriate ICT solutions
